Brenna Bazinet is a passionate artist born and raised in the Cowichan Valley who believes in the necessity of the arts in every community. A soprano and graduate from the Bachelor of Music: Voice Program at Ambrose University, where she studied under Dr. Rachel Goldenberg, Brenna can now be seen on stage in musicals, choirs, and in the classroom teaching and directing.
Brenna has always had a deep love of musical theatre and after her post-secondary studies were complete she made her acting debut with the Cowichan Musical Society (CMS) as Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical (2023)and since has participated in their productions of Legally Blonde the Musical (Vivienne Kensington, 2025), and Cinderella (Featured Ensemble, 2026). She also made her acting debut with Ladysmith Musical Arts in their production of Ruthless! The Musical in 2025 playing the iconic role of Judy Denmark/Ginger DelMarco.
Brenna graduated in June of 2024 with her Masters in Arts Leadership from Queen’s University and began working at Adage Studio and the Cowichan Valley Performing Arts Academy as the Educational and Music Department Coordinator, musical theatre teacher, and as an office administrator. She is now directing, music directng, and coordinating musical theatre programs in multiple schools across the Valley. As a vocalist Brenna has participated in many festivals and intensives across Alberta and British Columbia including: Contemporary Showcase, Songfest, the Cowichan Valley Music Festival, Opera NUOVA’s 3-Week Hybrid Program, and the BC Provincial Music Festival. Notably she competed as a finalist in the ARMTA Provincial Voice Competition in both 2021 and 2019 placing second and third overall. And in 2020, prior to the pandemic, she was one of three winners of the Ambrose Concerto Competition and had the privilege of singing with the Ambrose Chamber Orchestra.
She has sung with choral ensembles since the age of eight years old and took part in Ambrose University’s production of Amahl and the Night Visitors by Menotti, as a chorister in 2018. Brenna was awarded Valedictorian for her 2021 undergraduate class at Ambrose University.
You can see Brenna take the stage once again this January in CMS’s production Frozen the Musical, playing the role of Elsa or in various concerts throughout the year as a member of the Cowichan Vocal Collective Choir in Duncan, BC.
